Business Intelligence Vendors With a Healthcare Analytics Focus Garnering More Mindshare Among Providers

Providers turn to healthcare BI/Analytics vendors for expertise
OREM, Utah - March 31, 2015 As healthcare providers place more priority and focus on BI, they recognize the growing complexities of it and look for much-needed healthcare expertise and content among BI vendors.  Along with this search for healthcare expertise comes the realization that in-organization data is only a part of today's healthcare picture and that data aggregration capabilities, particularly those for organization outside of the four walls of the hospital, are more important than ever before.  These findings and more are revealed in the latest KLAS report, entitled Health Analytics 2015: Moving toward the Continuum of Care.

 

"While providers' choices for vendor products and platforms are broad, some key trends are forming," said report author, Joe Van De Graaff. "Among these are a notable gap of healthcare expertise among BI vendors, increased complexity in data aggregation, and a heightened call for analytics solutions for the continuum of care. The search is on for the vendor who can deliver."

This report highlights providers' perceptions/consideration of vendors seen as having or providing potential go-forward solutions in one or more of these areas.  Vendors discussed in this study include cross-industry vendors (i.e. IBM, Microsoft, Qlik, Oracle, SAP, Tableau), large healthcare IT (EMR) vendors (i.e. Allscripts, Cerner, Epic, McKesson), and healthcare niche vendors (i.e. Advisory Board, Explorys, Health Catalyst, Optum, Premier, and Truven Health Analytics).
