Adolescent disc prolapse : Look Beyond The Usual
A 15 Yrs old male admitted with recent history of trauma while travelling and complains of back pain radiation to the limbs. Though in the first look on MRI gives an impression of disc prolapse leading to radiculopathy. High suspicion and CT scan correlation reveals finding which may alter the diagnosis and prove essential for proper surgical management.

It is a ring apophyseal fracture with disc herniation through the defect.
Feature seen mostly in adolescents and very important to diagnose it preoperatively.
Looks like a posterior disc protrusion with a small avulsed endplate fragment.
