Bilateral fusion of the first and second rib: a “bridge variety”

During a CT scan of a patient who was admitted at the department of Radiology, Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, with a previous fracture of the scapular body and spina scapulae, we noticed an unexpected bilateral fusion of the first two ribs.
