I am the first Radiographer, pioneer who joined United Nations African Union in Darfur the year2008 and setup a Radiology Unit in Elfasher level 2 Hospital in Darfur, Sudan.
And the first radiographer to serve in a UN level 2 Civilian Hospital as a UNV radiographer.
I do have One year Sudan residence visa, since I am working as Radiographer in Darfur with UNAMID at the moment. My Sudanese residence Visa renewable as from August, 2011.

Description of Duties
Under the overall supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (UNAMID) and direct supervision of the Radiologist, you shall carry out the following tasks: (a). To apply the appropriate theories and techniques of radiography by : i. Organizing and running a digital X-ray and ultrasound imaging section for both military and civilian personnel of UNAMID as requested by the physicians, surgeons and the radiologist. ii. Organizing and overseeing collection and storage or all clinical laboratories and imaging data in the Level 2 hospital. iii. Participating to management of emergencies in team work. Including Performing emergency imaging for such emergencies. iv. To participate in preparing patients for referral in the best conditions to level 3 Hospital. v. Providing leadership for all initiatives aimed at upgrading imaging as needed in the Level 2 facility. vi. Observing and advising on the proper installation and maintenance of the equipment and machines with respect to radiography at the UNAMID Level 2 hospital. vii. Carry out relevant and regular reporting to immediate superior as needed for proper management of the UNAMID Level 2 Radiology Unit. (b.) In collaboration with the Pharmacist in Charge UNAMID Level 2 hospital and the Radiologist, store, keep record of stocks and account for all radiological equipment and other related supplies according to recommended guidelines. (C). To participate in on-job training in radiological awareness to the staff serving at the level 2 Medical facility. (d). To provide technical support to Level I medical facilities in the mission area, as identified by the radiologist or Chief Medical Officer. e. Carry out other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Radiologist or Chief Medical Officer UNAMID.

I was able to setup the first functional x-ray unit in Darfur with UNAMID since I was the first radiographer posted to UN own Lev 2 Hospital the year 2008.
Some of my achievements’ are improved the diagnostic capabilities of the level 2 hospital in terms of emergency service care and routine patient services.
Established center of Excellency in terms of radiological service.
Reduced the cost of referrals to Khartoum by 70% within the first 2 years of my operation by providing the necessary radiological service back up required for clinical management on the ground.
Help expand the provision of more radiological services in the mission area by planning and setting up similar service in Zalingei and kabkabiya in Darfur.
